David and Elizabeth Sneak Peek

Last Friday I headed up to gorgeous Sedona to photograph David and Elizabeth's engagement pictures. We took so many great shots that it was difficult to narrow it down! Here is one sneak peek... more to come soon!

Chris and Justine Engagement Session

It was an unbelievably hot day at the Desert Botanical Gardens, but I had a blast working with Chris and Justine! I am looking forward to their November wedding... even though we won't see Chris until then since he is leaving for boot camp in August and not returning until right before the wedding. Good luck Chris!

What's in a name?

I get asked frequently about how I came up with my business name. So I thought that I would post a blog about it...

My maiden name is Ivy (well, it was spelled Ivie, but making Ivy was easier) and my married last name is James. I loved Ivy and really didn't want to let it go when I got married but 

didn't want to hyphenate my name (I'm a pretty modern girl but when it comes to marriage I am quite traditional!) When it came time to choosing a business name I thought that it would be the perfect way to incorporate my past with my present/ future!

And since no blog is complete without a picture, I am posting a picture of our "kid" Betty. You will come to know her quite well as she is a major part of our lives.

I AM … thankful. 

I WANT… to take Betty for a walk, but am working instead

I HAVE … the best husband... EVER! 

I KEEP … TONS of back issues of photography magazines. 

I WISH I COULD … sleep for 12 hours straight. 

I HATE … arrogance and "one-uppers". 

I FEAR … clowns.... don't know why either. 

I DON’T THINK … I'm going to get to see The Proposal this weekend

I REGRET … not making the most of every day.... but I'm trying!

I LOVE … kisses on my forehead, trying to play fetch with Betty (she's not good at it), learning new things

I AM NOT … going to live with regret. 

I DANCE … only when no one's watching

I SING … see above.

I NEVER … go anywhere without a camera!

I RARELY … let Mark listen to what he wants when I'm driving

I CRY WHEN I WATCH … country music videos! Darn you Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift!

I AM NOT ALWAYS … great with dealing with stress. 

I HATE THAT … all the tastiest foods are bad for you. 

I’M CONFUSED ABOUT … why Heidi and Spencer are still together. 

I NEED … to start getting up earlier 

I SHOULD … go take Betty for a nice long walk and exercise!
